For more information, please visit JOB OVERVIEW We are seeking a Materials Process Engineer to join our team at Callaway Golf. This role focuses on component process engineering, specifically analyzing, testing, and qualifying materials such as composites, steel, and titanium for manufacturing. Working in a team environment, supports the research, design and manufacturing of Steel and Graphite Golf Shafts and Composite Materials to enhance the overall performance of new products.

Responsible for the technical knowledge, design, quality and fabrication of new technologies through product commercialization.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product and Industrial Design, Product Innovation, Program Management, and Global Suppliers, to ensure seamless development and implementation of manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include developing test plans, analyzing results, and verifying that materials and product meet both design and production requirements.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the research, design, product testing and evaluation of various materials and composite layups as it pertains to processing and mechanical performance.  Develop and implement manufacturing processes for advanced materials, including composites molding, welding, and metal forging.  Create and develop testing methods, guidelines and procedures to meet performance regulatory and standard requirements.  Complete failure analysis and customer return evaluation for Metal and Composite products and utilize this data to optimize future designs.  

Complete a qualification plan and analyze results of materials and product testing to meet critical performance metrics, including durability.  Document test results, lessons learned, and recommendations to ensure robust manufacturing processes and quality outcomes.  Provide input to R&D and Engineering regarding processing options during the development of new designs and composite layups – Design for Manufacturability (DFM).  Work with R&D and Engineering to ensure process specifications, procedures, and controls related to products are well documented and communicated before launch.  

Create detailed manufacturing specification documentation as required and support troubleshooting production process issues.  Review and assist in the design of gauge and fixture with the aim to improve inspection functionality and part manufacturing repeatability, including reviewing accuracy of drawings to support inspection.  Complete Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility for existing and new test standards both internally and at supplier manufacturer locations.  

Communicate efficiently with Product Engineers, Program Managers and Manufacturing Supplier teams to qualify new concepts and technologies to meet production requirements.  Provide technical knowledge to continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing productivity and yields with current products.
