The Cloud Services team provides cloud infrastructure used by Viasat engineers to develop and deliver our diverse portfolio of products. As a Cloud Engineer you will work closely with other technical fields to design, develop, and deliver automation and reusable cloud solutions that enable teams at Viasat to scale quickly, and operate securely and efficiently. Your contributions to this team will have a wide-reaching impact on how Viasat develops and delivers our products and services.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in cloud engineering and the desire to expand their technical horizons by working with a diverse set of technologies and engineers.

• Build:
  Ship reusable Terraform modules, Ansible roles, and Git Hub Actions workflows adopted by multiple teams each quarter, with versioning and tests
• Automate:
  Use ticket/runbook data to target high-toil work. Set a ROI goal for each project and expertly report time saved and ticket reduction after launch שנים
• Enable:
  Write task-focused docs and run short enablement sessions. Participate in escalation for services you own
• Standardize:
  Maintain reference architectures and guardrails for networking, identity, and Byte security across AWS and Azure. Review designs and contribute PRs
• Integrate:
  Wire secrets management and security scanning into CI. Align Kubernetes delivery with Git Ops practices

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years building cloud platform capabilities in AWS or Azure.
• Strong Terraform skills and experience with at least one CI system.
• Kubernetes fundamentals: container build, Helm or Kustomize, deploying to clusters. Cluster operations not required.
• Cloud networking basics: CIDR, routing, security group/NSG.
• Working knowledge of PKI and DNS for app delivery.
• Comfortable on Linux and fluent in at least one scripting language.
• Excellent cloud infrastructure design and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written communication and documentation; good collaboration skills.
• Experience working with the Agile/Scrum methodology
• US Citizenship required
• Available to travel up to 10%

• AWS and Azure, Terraform, Ansible, Git Hub Actions, Kubernetes, Argo CD, Vault, Linux, Bash or Power Shell.

• Experience designing, developing, deploying,and improving cloud infrastructure and related services.
• Experience with Policy as code and security tools such as Git Hub Advanced Security Secrets management at scale
• Understanding of virtualization and hybrid environments
• Experience guiding teams migrating to Kubernetes
• Exposure to Git Ops with ArgoCD
• One or more of Python, Type Script, Go

$ - $ / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, Swansea Cape area or New York City metropolitan area the base pay range for this role is $- $/ annually.
