Position Overview

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Estimator with a strong attention to detail and deadlines. The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in preconstruction planning efforts and during the bidding phases of our projects. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of construction estimating practices, strong digital takeoff skills, and the ability to analyze subcontractor bids and project documents.

This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate digital onscreen takeoffs and quantity surveys
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for new construction and renovation projects
  • Review, analyze, and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals
  • Interpret and evaluate construction drawings, specifications, and owner requirements & regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain historical cost databases and empirical data for future projects and establishing concept budgets in early planning stages.
  • Support the preparation of project budgets, RFP packages and presentations
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
  • Proficiency with digital takeoff software and estimating tools (e.g., Bluebeam, OST, or equivalent)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven track record of successful project bidding and estimating
  • Experience with client interactions and meetings
Preferred Qualifications
  • General Contractor experience is a big plus
  • Experience with affordable housing projects strongly preferred
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and resourceful
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
  • Detail-focused and highly organized
  • Self-starter who thrives in a goal-driven environment
  • Must be able to multi-task and juggle multiple project duties, often requiring overlapping deliverables
  • Must be comfortable interfacing with clients both virtually and in-person when required
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
Physical Requirements
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry and document handling
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, or reach
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies or files)
  • Visual acuity to read printed and digital documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and through email
