Staff Accountant

Description

Robert Half is hiring a curious, systems‑savvy Staff Accountant for a growth‑stage biotech company in Carlsbad. You'll gain broad GL exposure-prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and inventory support-while partnering with R& D and Operations. Great seat for someone aiming to progress to Senior within 12-24 months.

What You'll Do

+ Prepare journal entries (prepaids, accruals, amortization); perform account recs

+ Support month-end close: schedules, flux, and documentation

+ Assist with fixed assets, CIP tracking, and depreciation schedules

+ Partner with Supply Chain on inventory and COGS data integrity

+ Help with audit requests, SOX-lite controls, and policy documentation

+ Identify and implement process improvements and checklist refinements

Requirements

+ Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance; 1-3+ years GL experience

+ Excel strength (pivots, lookups); ERP exposure (Net Suite preferred)

+ Biotech/manufacturing exposure a plus; strong ownership and organization
