Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Carlsbad, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

- Review and accurately code contracts, payments, and receipts while ensuring all required documentation and approvals are in place.

- Prepare and analyze adjusting journal entries as part of the General Ledger review process.

- Maintain detailed schedules for financial reporting, including depreciation, amortization, committed cost budgets, and deferred revenue.

- Conduct thorough reviews of trial balances and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

- Support quarterly financial reporting by generating cost analysis and straight-line rent schedules.

- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal processes.

- Manage full-cycle accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

- Collaborate with team members to improve financial reporting processes and accuracy. Requirements - Proven experience in full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable and receivable.

- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.

- Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control procedures.

- Proficiency in reviewing contracts, payments, and receipts for accuracy.

- Ability to prepare and analyze adjusting journal entries and financial schedules.

- Experience in conducting bank reconciliations and trial balance reviews.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
