HGV Technician - Carlisle

Salary: £18 per hour + OVERTIME + BONUS + PLUS £1000 SIGNING ON BONUS

Working Week

39 Hours basic week + overtime available @ time and a half!

Covering a rotating shift:
  • week 1 0800hrs to 1630hrs
  • week 2 0900hrs to 1730hrs
  • week 3 1300hrs to 2130hrs

You will have:

  • A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Previous experience working on HGV's or have you completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry
What you will do
  • Our Technicians are responsible carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers' trucks. Fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.
  • Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process
  • Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
  • Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns.
  • Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
  • Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
  • Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
  • Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices
