Hours37 hours per week (Monday‑Friday), 8am‑4pm
Pay Rate£22 LTD per hour
About the RoleTo provide immediate investigative capacity within CID Rape and Serious Sexual Offence (RASSO) teams, managing complex investigations to a high professional and ethical standard under the supervision of a Detective Sergeant and Detective Inspector.
This role exists to reduce investigative backlogs, progress live RASSO investigations, and maintain victim confidence during a period of increased demand.

Role Focus: CID RASSO investigations - Option 2 – PIP2 Investigator & Specialist Investigative Interviewer
Accreditation: PIP 2 + Specialist Investigative Interviewer (ABE / former Tier
3)
Location:
Carlisle or Kendal
Role Focus: RASSO investigations including ABE video‑recorded interviews
- Conducting full RASSO investigations under PACE, CPIA and national guidance
- Identifying, securing, preserving and reviewing evidential and third‑party material
- Recording victim and witness accounts, including ABE interviews where accredited
- Interviewing suspects under caution, applying current law, codes of practice and investigative judgement
- Completing house‑to‑house enquiries, TIE enquiries and search duties as required
- Managing exhibits and maintaining evidential continuity
- Reviewing and managing disclosure in line with CPIA and Attorney General’s Guidelines
- Preparing high‑quality case files for CPS submission and post‑charge progression
- Attending court and other legal proceedings when required
- Maintaining victim and witness welfare throughout the investigative process
- Accredited PIP 2 Investigator
- Recent experience investigating Rape and Serious Sexual Offences
- Strong working knowledge of PACE and Codes of Practice
- CPIA and disclosure requirements
- ABE guidelines
- Proven ability to manage complex investigations with vulnerable victims
- Availability to work full‑time, office‑based in Cumbria for the duration of the contract
