Extra Care Registered Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to manage our two Carlisle Extra Care services, Heysham Gardens and Burnside Court. Both services are well established and well regarded, with a vibrant and established care team providing compassionate support to older adults. The services provide support cover during the day and night support for clients who need it. The service is registered with the CQC as delivering Personal Care and has a ‘Good’ rating.

• Lead the staff team to provide the highest standards of customer care and person‑centred service delivery, promoting independence, choice and wellbeing.
• Operationally manage the service and directly supervise a Deputy Manager and Support Workers.
• Work effectively with families and other agencies, maintaining a positive and trusting relationship with on‑site Housing Scheme Managers; manage contract and relationship duties.
• Undertake quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with essential standards of care, working hard, being accountable and utilising strong organisational skills.
• Respond to referrals, undertake assessments and participate in allocation processes.
• Ensure that each person moving into the service has a personalised care plan that meets their needs and preferences.

• At least three years of management experience in the care and support of older people in settings such as extra care, home care or residential care.
• Previous experience of staff supervision and management.
• Relevant skills and knowledge required, with the ability to bring a warm, caring and person‑centred approach.
• Commitment to re‑ablement principles and promoting dignity and independence.
• A can‑do hands‑on approach and a positive role model.
