Position: 1 : 1 Teaching Assistant - Start after October half-term

Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support the learning of a pupil in year 2 with varied SEN in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Greenhead on a full-time basis.

About the Role
  • Support pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis in all lessons. SEN may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and PMLD.
  • Support non-verbal pupils or those requiring personal care.
  • Work alongside the Class Teacher to plan and deliver inspiring learning activities suited to pupils’ needs and learning styles.
  • Develop an understanding of pupils’ different needs and learning styles, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this.

  • The role is based in an inspirational Primary School in Greenhead.
  • Opportunities to support pupils across the School from EYFS to Year 6, depending on experience and specialism.

Pay, Hours and Contract
  • Pay – Between £88-110 per day
  • Hours –
  • Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.

  • Location – Greenhead (CA8)
Experience / Qualifications and Requirements
  • A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
  • Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Ability to drive and access to a car (desired)
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
