Band 2 Ward Clerk – Northern Cancer Centre Carlisle
Job SummaryDo you enjoy interacting with the general public? Do you possess excellent I.T. skills and have a good working knowledge of hospital computer systems? If so, why not join us in the busy Northern Cancer Centre Carlisle chemotherapy unit.
We are looking for someone to join the team as a Band 2 Ward Clerk, specialising in a wide variety of chemotherapy treatments across the Carlisle and Whitehaven sites, with a growing service requiring administrative support at our Carlisle site.
Responsibilities- Provide efficient administrative support and communications to the Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse and multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the delivery of high standard patient care.
- Ensure electronic notes, investigations, patient documents and results are available for new admissions and treatment appointments.
- Ensure patient documents are correctly maintained following departmental guidelines, keeping patient record systems up‑to‑date and accurate.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties: manage postal work, handle referrals, produce clinic letters, manage telephone calls, daily postal duties, print patient labels, photocopy, general filing duties, cover reception.
- Plan training schedules for chemotherapy staff to cover clerical duties when needed.
- English and Maths GCSE grade 9‑4 (A‑C) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of office procedures.

Pattern:
Full‑time, Permanent, 37 hours 30 minutes per week.
Pay: £24,465 per annum (Agenda for Change).
