Job Purpose

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer who cares deeply about User Experience and code quality. You will own the client-side of Talent Mapper, building responsive, accessible, and performant interfaces using React and Type Script. You will work closely with our Designer to turn complex talent data into intuitive visualisations.

• Frontend Ownership:
  Own the architecture and development of new user-facing features using React (Ant Design) and Type Script.
• Component Strategy:
  Build and expand our reusable component library to ensure consistency and speed of development.
• Design to Code:
  Work closely with our Designer to translate high-fidelity Figma designs into pixel-perfect, accessible code.
• Data Visualisation:
  Implement complex data visualisations (using D3.js or similar) that render efficiently and provide clear insights to our users.
• Maintain Performance:
  Ensure the application remains highly performant and fully responsive across all devices.
• Technical Excellence:
  Write robust unit and integration tests (Jest/Cypress) and apply SOLID principles to frontend component design.

Experience

Required:

• React Ecosystem:
  Strong proficiency in React (Hooks, Context) and Type Script.
• Frontend Architecture:
  Proven experience treating the frontend as a complex application, applying strict typing and scalable structures.
• Testing:
  Solid experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
• Modern Styling:
  Proficiency with modern CSS workflows (Modules, Styled Components, or Tailwind).
• Tooling:
  Comfortable working with Docker (for local dev environments) and advanced Git workflows.

Skills Required:

• Bridge Builder:
  Ability to bridge the gap between complex backend data and elegant frontend implementation.
• Strategic Thinking:
  Ability to architect a scalable codebase that can grow with the company.
• Communication:
  Collaborative spirit, especially when working with Product Designers and Backend Engineers.

Beneficial Skills (Nice to have)

• Data Visualisation:
  Experience with libraries like Apache ECharts, Apex Charts, D3.js, or Recharts.
• Dev Ops:
  Experience setting up frontend CI/CD pipelines (e.g., automated deployments to GCS/Firebase).
• Cloud Knowledge:
  Basic familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) concepts.
