Advice Worker (Temporary)

Cardiff 4 days per week / Gwent 1 day per week

37 hours per week (part time also considered)

£26,500 - £27,500 negotiable

Temporary Contract - 6 to 8 weeks to start

We are recruiting for a Advice Worker to support individuals and families from the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) community across Cardiff and Gwent.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced support professional to help people develop the skills and confidence needed to live independently and sustain stable housing
.

You'll provide advice and practical support around tenancy sustainment, benefits, budgeting, health and wellbeing, and household management
, while managing a varied caseload.

• Manage a caseload and provide tailored advice and support
• Support individuals to secure and maintain accommodation
• Develop and review support plans and risk assessments
• Provide guidance on benefits, budgeting, and tenancy issues
• Maintain accurate case records and reports
• Work collaboratively with external agencies and services
• Support clients to develop life skills and engage in their community
• Provide mentoring and support to junior colleagues

• NVQ Level 3, A-Level or equivalent qualification
• Experience in advice or support work
• Experience working with disadvantaged or marginalised individuals
• Knowledge of housing, welfare benefits and public services
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and work independently
• Strong communication, IT and organisational skills
• Empathy and understanding of the barriers faced by the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required due to community-based work.
• A DBS on the update service is essential
