Our Emergency Duty Team is at the forefront of providing urgent social care support to individuals and families in crisis. The Emergency Duty Team provides an out-of-hours service, responding to emergencies and other social work matters that cannot be safely left until the following working day.

Our EDT service is a regional partnership arrangement with the Vale of Glamorgan Council, hosted and managed by Cardiff Council to all citizens across the two local authority areas working collaboratively with partner agencies and other emergency services.

We are looking for committed individuals to join our team at an exciting time of the services development.

As an EDT Principal Social Worker, you will have a commitment to safeguarding and upholding the rights of children, young people and adults and working in a strength-based, preventative way. In a rewarding, diverse but complex environment, you will deal with a range of cases from child protection to mental health act assessments, and decisions that need to be made in the context of each individual case to achieve optimum outcomes.

You will be committed to working in a way that promotes equality and inclusion for all our citizens and work closely with other agencies such as the Police and Health professionals.
