Electrician/ Electrician Installation
The Electrician is responsible for the safe, compliant installation and modification of electrical systems across Nuvolt commercial and renewable energy project sites.
The role focuses on AC electrical works associated with solar PV systems, EV charging and battery storage across commercial electrical installations. This includes containment, cabling, distribution equipment, isolators and grid connections, delivered in line with drawings, regulations and company standards.
The position requires strong electrical installation skills, the ability to interpret technical drawings and method statements, and effective communication with project managers, commissioning engineers and clients. Regular travel is required, including staying away from home, depending on project locations.
- Install AC electrical systems associated with commercial solar PV installations
- Install containment systems including tray, basket, conduit and trunking
- Pull, terminate and test AC cabling in line with drawings and specifications
- Install isolators, distribution boards, protective devices and metering equipment
- Carry out electrical works in compliance with BS 7671, MCS standards and site procedures
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, layouts and method statements
- Work safely in accordance with RAMS, CDM Regulations and Nuvolt safety policies
- Identify site issues or design discrepancies and report to the project manager
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment
- Support commissioning and testing activities when required
- Assist with installation photographs and documentation for QA and handover
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and other contractors
- Attend toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings
- Travel between sites and stay away from home as required
- Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent
- City and Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
- ECS Gold card
- Full UK driving licence
- City and Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection and Testing
- Experience or training in solar PV or renewable energy systems
- PASMA, IPAF or working at height certifications
- Manufacturer training for inverters, EV chargers or battery systems
- Knowledge in Solar Edge systems
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an electrician
- Experience working on commercial or industrial sites
- Practical experience installing containment, cabling and electrical equipment
- Experience working on solar PV or renewable energy projects
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning or energisation works
- Strong commitment to health and safety
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site team
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Professional communication and positive site attitude
- Good time management and flexibility to work across multiple sites
- Willingness to develop skills within the renewable energy sector
Pay rate will be based on current JIB rates for Wales and aligned to experience, qualifications, and grading. Final rate to be confirmed following discussion and assessment.
