The Opportunity:

Unlocking your career. Be part of something bigger.

With roles from hospitality to research, there’s a career for everyone at the University of Edinburgh. We can offer opportunities for you to develop in your career and make a real difference in the communities around us while contributing to the world at large.

Join the University of Edinburgh and you’ll be making a difference to everything around you. Be part of something bigger — where you’ll do meaningful work, grow and progress, be rewarded and recognised, and benefit from our strong commitment to your wellbeing. There are so many reasons to join us.

The University of Edinburgh is a world‑class organisation. We are a large University covering a wide range of activities. In Professional Services, we support the University’s research and teaching, offering many career and role specialisms.

As a Graduate Research Practitioner at the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, you will launch your career in clinical research, gaining wide‑ranging experience: from directly recruiting people with neurological conditions to research studies and performing assessments according to study protocols, to managing data, and learning about clinical trial governance. Working in a world‑class, supportive, multi‑disciplinary team, you will help provide hope through research to people with progressive incurable conditions such as multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, Parkinson’s and dementias.

The Graduate Research Practitioner post will start in August 2026 and is for those who have graduated from an undergraduate degree within the last two years. This two‑year role will be an excellent springboard for those wishing to work in clinical research or trial management in an academic, NHS or commercial setting, or in preparation for further study e.g. medical degree or PhD.

People have always been at the heart of our work. As part of the University, you are a part of our community. We are looking for people with drive, determination, and a passion for what they do. We are a place where everyone is welcome and offer a range of policies and benefits designed to support you in building the right meaningful/personalised flexibility for you.

A career with us has a range of other benefits that can be tailored to your lifestyle:

  • Professional development and subject matter expertise
  • Leading‑edge research
  • Variety every day

This post is full‑time (35 hours per week) at the Anne Rowling Clinic, Edinburgh Bio Quarter.

Due to the patient‑facing nature of the work, the post is not suitable for hybrid/off‑campus working.

PVG will be required for this post.

Please note that for this post, some experience of clinical research, or care of chronically neurologically disabled adults, is desirable.

Please include the following documents in your application:
