Overview

We are seeking people to join our Ecology Team to integrate nature into developments and build a better future. The Cardiff office works with water companies, transport, power, and local authorities across south, mid and north Wales.

Joining our team as a Seasonal Ecologist you will likely spend most of your time on site undertaking survey work, notably for bats, with some office-based work including data analysis and health, safety and wellbeing reporting. You will support senior team members and communicate survey findings regularly and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake site-based ecological survey work, with an emphasis on bat surveys.
  • Assist with data analysis, prepare health, safety and wellbeing reporting, and briefings.
  • Support senior team members and communicate survey findings regularly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Cardiff ecology team and the larger network of ecologists.
Candidate specification

Essential

  • A degree in Ecology (or a directly related subject).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and flexibility to work evenings.
  • Good organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Technical specialism such as protected species survey licences (ideally for bats or dormice).
  • Relevant experience in Ecological Consultancy (or equivalent with transferable skills).
  • Experience undertaking bat surveys and analyzing sound files and infrared footage.
  • Proficiency in report writing and producing ecological deliverables.
