About the role

As part of a close-knit, cohesive team, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business sales for Insight’s data and pricing analytics solutions.

This is an individual contributor, 360‑degree sales role where you will take ownership of the entire commercial process, from initial market sourcing and client qualification right through to complex contract negotiation and deal closure.

What you'll be doing
  • Sourcing &

    Qualification:

    initiate, seek, and qualify new clients through proactive prospecting, strategic networking, and comprehensive market mapping within the Insurance sector
  • Sales Ownership: own and manage the entire sales lifecycle, ensuring a seamless process from lead generation to final contract closure.
  • Strategy Development: work with the wider Insight team to build tailored, customer‑specific acquisition and data solution strategies.
  • Client Engagement: conduct effective and professional client meetings, demonstrating consultative sales expertise
  • Presentation & Pitching: present Insight’s comprehensive data solutions and insurance pricing analytics with conviction and clarity to senior stakeholders
  • Sales Reporting & Analytics: utilise analytic tools such as CRM to gauge outreach effectiveness, accurately forecast sales, and inform future course correction
  • Internal

    Collaboration:

    work effectively and fluidly with others within the Insight team (e.g., Account Management, Pricing/Analytics, Product, Engineering) to scope and meet complex client needs
  • Marketing Alignment: coordinate activities with marketing programs and assist in program implementation where appropriate.
What we're looking for

Please note this is a full 360 sales role, so people management experience is not necessary for this particular opportunity.

Essentials

  • Proven experience selling Data Solutions (e.g., market data, risk data, pricing tools, or business intelligence platforms) to B2B clients
  • Highly Desirable:
    Experience selling data solutions to the Insurance sector (e.g., Insurers, MGA’s, Brokers)
  • Demonstrable track record of exceeding new business revenue targets
  • Experience working with MEDDPICC methodology.

  • Demonstrate inherent strong influencing and negotiation skills with a proven record of successfully closing high‑value contracts within a defined timeframe
  • A lateral and logical mind that results in a strong consultative sales, relationship‑building, and customer services approach
  • Self‑starter capable of thriving in a fast‑paced, new business‑focused environment
  • Polished presentation skills (both to large groups as well as 1 to
    1).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a matrix organisation.
