Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you can work fewer hours down to a minimum of 12.
AvailabilityYour contracted hours will be scheduled within the following windows. You will receive at least 3 weeks' notice of your shifts.
- Sun: 14:00 – 23:00
- Wed: 04:00 – 13:00
- Fri: 04:00 – 13:00
- Sat: 14:00 – 23:00
- Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations
- Be there for customers, listening and helping them leave with what they came for
- Look for ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues and giving feedback
- Guide and support colleagues in-store, ensuring a safe working and shopping environment
- Maintain understanding of store performance and assist managers in delivering actions to improve operations
- Lead from the front, setting a great example for colleagues
- Open and close the store, and complete duty cover, ensuring all decisions support safety
- Act as go‑to person for day‑to‑day queries in the absence of a manager
- Keep the team well-informed of any communications, changes or updates
- Follow health and safety routines, ensuring colleagues do the same
- Recognise and celebrate colleagues who provide great service

- Strong relationship builder, fostering a positive inclusive team atmosphere
- Clear communicator using varied methods
- Comfortable taking the lead and overseeing the store in manager’s absence
