We are seeking a motivated, dynamic, and highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Pain Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist service that is committed to delivering exceptional, patient‑centred care.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will bring extensive experience and in‑depth knowledge of pain management, gained through a substantial period of working in this specialised field. Your expertise will help shape and deliver innovative approaches to managing pain across diverse patient groups.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;

- Provide expert clinical support & advice to patients & the multidisciplinary team across a wide range of adult & paediatric specialities.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, managing complex pain cases & delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care.
- Deliver education & training to healthcare professionals to enhance knowledge & skills in pain management.
- Assess, plan, implement, & evaluate pain management strategies, ensuring safe & effective interventions.
- Collaborate with surgical & peri‑operative teams to optimise pain control & improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in service development & quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the advancement of pain management practices.
- Rotate between University Hospital of Wales & University Hospital Llandough, providing consistent support across sites.
- Maintain accurate documentation & uphold professional standards in line with Health Board policies.
- Engage in continuous professional development, including working towards or maintaining advanced qualifications (MSc & independent prescribing).
- Promote patient‑centred care, ensuring dignity, respect, & effective communication at all times.
The posts will primarily be based at University Hospital of Wales with a rotation to the University Hospital of Llandough. Applicants should therefore be car owners with a current driving licence.

Person Specification Other- Evidence of personal and practice development
