Role Summary

We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Blow Moulding Department at Severnside Dairy. As an Engineering Technician you will provide safe front‑line reactive maintenance, identify root cause, bring equipment back into service quickly, and seek cost‑effective improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective handover of information across shift.
  • Use PMS to support prioritisation and problem solving (RCFA).
  • Diagnose faults and test, repair and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or impending failure and provide CMMS data.
  • Contact OEMs and other suppliers for technical support; expedite parts when not available on‑site.
  • Lead shift‑based problem solving where corrective actions aren’t clear.
  • Work as ONE TEAM with First‑Line Response Technician.
  • Coach operators with asset‑care tasks.
  • Identify and implement improvements.
  • Identify life‑cycle issues and raise recommendations.
  • Use and support simple 5

    WHY OE/RCA techniques to 100‑year fix.
  • Use and support departmental 5S programmes for workshops and stores.
What we're looking for
  • Recognised apprenticeship.
  • Experience with in maintenance.
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Mechanical/Electrical bias.
  • ONC/HNC qualification.
  • IOSH/HNBOS – desirable.
  • Electrical qualification.
  • Multiskilled engineer experience.
