TSR Legal are delighted to be representing a highly regarded, established law firm in Cardiff that is looking to appoint a Senior Associate to lead and grow its New Build Conveyancing offering. This is a standout opportunity for an experienced new build specialist who wants more than just a caseload — this role offers real autonomy, influence, and the chance to expand an already successful department.

The

Opportunity

This firm has a strong existing reputation in residential conveyancing and works closely with major national developers. They are now investing in the growth of their new build department and are seeking someone senior and commercially minded to take ownership of this exciting new venture.

You will manage your own new build caseload while also heading up the department, shaping its future direction, developing processes, and playing a key role in its expansion.

The Work
  • Plot purchases
  • First-time buyer new build transactions
  • Part exchanges
  • Buy-to-let new builds
  • Fixed price developer schemes
  • Help to Buy matters

The firm has significant experience in this space and was an early leader in Help to Buy, completing a substantial proportion of the scheme s first transactions in Wales. They fully understand the timescales and commercial realities of working with developers and new build clients.

Leadership & Growth Focus

Alongside fee-earning, you will:

  • Take the lead on the firm s new build strategy
  • Build, develop, and lead a new build team
  • Implement systems and best practice for new build conveyancing
  • Strengthen and grow relationships with developers and introducers
  • Work closely with senior management with the freedom to see your vision through

This is very much a growth-led role — ideal for someone who wants a seat at the table and the ability to genuinely influence how a department is run.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Solicitors or Legal Executives with strong new build conveyancing experience
  • Candidates operating at Senior Associate level, or Associates ready to step up
