Overview
The Associate Director of Commercial & Social Value provides strategic leadership and expert guidance on all aspects of commercial procurement, contracting, and Social Value for the organisation. This post plays a pivotal role in ensuring value-for-money procurement decisions align with environmental sustainability goals, Welsh Government targets, and organisational objectives.
Responsibilities- Lead the development, delivery, and continual improvement of commercial strategies aligned to procurement and Social Value.
- Oversee complex commercial negotiations and high-value procurement programmes.
- Drive innovation and carbon reduction through sustainable procurement practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align procurement practices with national Social Value policy and legislation.
- Working in collaboration with health boards, government, clinical leaders, and digital programme teams, the postholder will develop and deliver strategies to measure and improve value across digital services, champion NHS Wales' net zero ambitions, and shape national policy and investment decisions.
- Commitment to DHCW values and behaviours, including Compassionate Leadership.
- Ability to work flexibly, including hybrid working arrangements.
- Travel throughout Wales as required.
- Participation in on-call management rota
- Commitment to supporting the organisation's mission to encourage and embrace diversity and inclusion across the NHS.
