PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £53,700 - £67,850 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
This role is currently advertised as internal only. Freelancers are eligible to apply if they have been on a Worker Contract (more info here) continuously for 6 months. If less than 6 months (or they have had a break of 3 weeks or more between engagements), they must seek Divisional HR approval to apply.

PURPOSE OFTHE ROLE
You will be required to work and partner with senior editorial teams in Television, Audio, Visualisation and Technology. This role involves close collaboration with the team's Operational Leads and is responsible for some of the BBC's most high-profile content. As a key member of the management team, you will work closely with other teams across Wales to foster a culture of working together.
You will also ensure that effective relationships exist across other areas of the BBC to ensure that skills and operational experience are maximised.
The Operations Executive will lead the Operational teams which sit within multi-platform operations (TV, Radio, Streaming/Visualisation) and Site Operations. This role is a key member of the Wales Business and Operations management team.
YOURKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Serve as a highly visible and trusted leader focusing on effective management and enhancing staff engagement.
- Oversee the department's operational staff managing performance, training and development.
- Collaborate with production partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality content.
- Align with divisional and departmental objectives to formulate viable and strategic business plans.
- Build and maintain relationships with recognised trade unions, leaders and equivalent operational areas across the BBC, both in Media Ops and Nations to ensure a cooperative and collaborative approach.
- Effectively manage and feed into the planning of the department's budget.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and new technology. Share knowledge and experiences with colleagues and proactively seek out, recommend and adopt more effective techniques, ways of working and best practices to drive efficiencies and deliver value for money.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL CRITERIA :- Significant Content or Operational Team leadership experience.
- Empowering team leader who can coach and develop others to perform at their best.
- Excellent knowledge of the broadcast sector, its current technologies and working practice.
- Inspiring and persuasive communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with teams and stakeholders.
- Proactive problem solver who takes accountability for resolving issues.
- Experience of using business systems.
- Experience of working with trade unions collaboratively in the delivery of departmental objectives.
- Financial skills and ability to manage budgets and scheduling resources.
- Experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders.
