Position: Business Analyst / Dadansoddwr Busnes

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Business Analyst with a demonstrable track record of managing and delivering change and IT and technology solutions.

As part of our busy team, you will be joining our Technology and Data Directorate working with stakeholders at all levels to understand business needs, identify inefficiencies, and design solutions that deliver real value to our residents and teams.

This is a key role in helping us improve the quality, availability, and accessibility of information across the organisation.

Who are we looking for?
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst.
  • A strong customer-focused and empathetic approach to working with people.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing workload effectively and meeting challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the self‑awareness to tailor your approach to different audiences.
  • A solid understanding of software development and the ability to define system and software solutions.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and operational staff to gather requirements, develop strategy, and translate needs into actionable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create designs and specifications based on requirements.
  • Experience documenting business processes, wireframes, user stories and specifying requirements using a variety of methods.
  • A track record of managing and delivering change within an organisation, supported by clear and concise documentation and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft enterprise solutions, especially Dynamics, SharePoint and workflow software, and specialist knowledge of hardware and software across common platforms including Azure Dev Ops and Visio.
What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Technology Portfolio Manager, you will work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to undertake full evaluation and analysis of business processes and systems. You will identify where existing constraints or inefficiencies exist, and proactively design and recommend solutions that deliver meaningful improvements.

You will gain a deep understanding of how systems and processes connect and overlap, identifying areas of waste and hand‑offs, and help redefine workflows that support better service delivery to our residents.

Part of your responsibilities will include producing clear, high‑quality documentation, contributing to change management efforts, and collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to explore and understand technical capabilities and constraints.

Being a strong communicator is key; you will build positive relationships across the organisation, provide a high‑quality, friendly and customer‑orientated service, and demonstrate empathy, professionalism and a commitment to continuous improvement.
