Job Summary
This post is Fixed/Secondment for up to 21 months to meet the needs of the service.

An opportunity for a Senior Digital Specialist has arisen within the Digital Services Infrastructure team at Velindre University NHS Trust. The role will be a full time on-site position, equally supporting Velindre Cancer Centre in Whitchurch, Cardiff and the Welsh Blood Service at Talbot Green and will be based at both sites.
The Digital Services team is a fast-paced environment with over 17,000 calls logged in the past twelve months. The successful candidate will be able to work under pressure and tight timescales whilst providing first class customer service for 1,800 staff and 2,500 client devices.
You will have a passion for innovation, a keen interest in advancing technology and will want to develop current IT support skills.

Main Duties of the JobThe candidate will require technical experience, supporting users with applications and devices. You must demonstrate experience working within IT on your application form which is essential for this role. The post holder will:
- Work using Service Desk software to respond to tickets escalated from the Digital Service Desk team
- Update Support tickets with updates and resolutions
- Be able to prioritise tickets which are logged by users
- Be able to build and fix IT devices and peripherals in a timely manner
- Work alongside other Digital Services support staff
- Have experience in an UK IT setting, which will be essential for this role, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Have UK based experience providing support for Microsoft Windows and Office 365 applications

Qualifications & Knowledge – Essential- Qualified to UK based degree level or with UK based equivalent experience.
- Relevant knowledge of Microsoft client operating systems and desktop software.
- IT qualification
- ECDL or equivalent
- Cisco Certified (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE)
- Microsoft Certified (MTA, MCSA, MCSE)
- ITIL v3
- Relevant knowledge of Microsoft server configuration, hardware and software, network security, domain and active directory structures.
