As Workforce Transformation Lead, you will play a central role in redesigning how our services operate, ensuring we have the right people, skills and structures in place to support exceptional patient care. You will lead complex transformation programmes, develop innovative workforce solutions, and embed modern and efficient ways of working. Working closely with leaders, clinicians and partners, you will influence decision-making, guide improvements and help build a workforce strategy that is both forward-thinking and people-centred.

You will bring experience in workforce transformation or organisational change, strong negotiation and engagement skills, and the confidence to work collaboratively across teams. Most importantly, you will be motivated by making a real and positive impact.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide innovative, pro-active advice and support to Velindre Cancer Service at a time of change and transition. The post holder will possess HR and workforce expertise and be involved in highly complex workforce issues which are summarised as follows:

  • To direct and motivate teams to ensure a high standard of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of workforce services.
  • To develop plans to ensure that clinical and managerial leaders throughout the Division possess the skills, confidence and expertise to lead and manage their teams effectively to transition to the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC)
  • To develop the integrated workforce plans and implementation plans for the Trust Strategies. These will include service, financial and workforce plans for the Division, based on NHS, Welsh Government and Trust workforce change initiatives.
  • To ensure compliance with national and Trust policies in relation to employment and equality law, policy and good practice.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 14 months until 31st March 2027 to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
