Main duties of the job- BPchecks
- ECG
- Flu/pneumococcal/shinglesimmunisation
- Repeatdressing of wounds after assessment by a qualified nurse
- INRchecks
- Learningdisability checks
- GPLifestyle advice and smoking cessation advice
- Chronicdisease management:
- Carry out diabetic checks pre nurse review.
Althoughthis lists the main clinical duties, there may be additional tasks requested
Administrativeduties
- Stock check and ordering
- Cleaning,checking and calibration of equipment
- Stockingup clinical rooms and emptying clinical waste bins
- General housekeeping (tidying storerooms and clinical rooms, disposing of out of datestock and reporting to the appropriate person, putting stock and equipmentaway)
- Takingon specific roles as discussed with the team, eg flu champion.
Knowledge of EMIS computer system

- We are part ofthe South Easter Cluster [Collaborative] comprising of 8 practices. The surgeryis located close to the city centre in the Cathays areawith a mixed demographic and easily accessible with public transport.
- We hold regular informal clinical team meetings in addition to an open-door policy for mentoring and advice.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a GP surgery is essential
- Proficient in clinical duties such as phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, wound care, and vaccinations
- Familiarity with EMIS/Web or other clinical systems preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Agored Cymru Level 3 Diploma in Primary Care Health Care Support or equivalent accredited modules
- Experience working in a GP surgery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards
- Compliant with the HCSW Code of Conduct
- Experience using EMIS clinical system
