The Specialist Women’s Case Co-ordinator role sits within Cardiff Council’s Support and Accommodation Service and plays a vital part in supporting women with complex and multiple needs, including those who are sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness. The post holder will provide an assertive, trauma-informed and needs-led approach to support, recognising the significant barriers women may face when accessing services.
The role involves managing a caseload of women with complex needs, ensuring holistic assessments are completed and that appropriate, safe and sustainable accommodation options are identified and secured. The Specialist Women’s Case Co-ordinator will work closely with a wide range of partner agencies, advocating on behalf of women at multi-agency meetings to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are central to decision-making.
The post holder will contribute to achieving positive long-term outcomes by building strong professional relationships, coordinating support, and supporting women to engage with services that promote stability, safety and independence. In addition, the role will support the wider service area as required, contributing to the overall effectiveness and development of the service.
This is a challenging but rewarding role within a service that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, supporting some of the most vulnerable women in Cardiff.
Who We Are Looking ForWe are looking for dynamic, motivated and compassionate individuals who are committed to making a real difference to the lives of women with complex needs. The successful candidate will be able to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with both service users and partner agencies and will demonstrate a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to their work.
Applicants should have proven experience of working with individuals who present with complex behaviours, alongside a strong understanding of the issues faced by women experiencing homelessness, including trauma, exploitation, substance misuse and mental ill health. Experience of working within housing, support, health or social care settings will be an advantage.
The working environment can be demanding, and the ability to remain calm, resilient and solution-focused under pressure is essential. The role also requires flexibility, initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be expected to support the management team various aspects of service delivery and contribute positively to service development.
