Hours: Full Time (40 hours per week) or Part Time

Salary: £26,280 per annum (£12.60 per hour)

About the Role

At Fairfield House, you’ll be part of a dedicated team supporting six men with a range of support needs including autism, epilepsy, mental health conditions, and behaviours that can sometimes be challenging. These behaviours are part of the people’s unique support needs, and Perthyn will provide you with full training and ongoing support to help you feel confident and prepared.

You’ll play a vital role in helping the people we support live fulfilling lives, promoting independence, and encouraging meaningful engagement in their communities.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing tailored support with daily living, personal care, and routines
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with the people we support, their families, and professionals
  • Supporting hobbies and interests such as bike riding, boating in Cardiff Bay, and day trips to the Brecon Beacons and Gower
  • Encouraging social connections and helping people build and maintain friendships
  • Administering medication, monitoring health, and responding to emergencies
  • Collaborating with your team, attending meetings, and sharing best practices
  • Keeping accurate records including daily logs, incident reports, and care plans
  • Advocating for the people we support, helping them make informed choices and access community resources
What We Need From You

We’re looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to making a positive difference. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting people
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet varied support needs
  • A willingness to learn – full training provided, including Positive Behaviour Support, Epilepsy, and Dysphagia
  • Desirable:
    Experience with communication methods for hearing impairments and a valid driving licence
Your Rewards
  • Full-time salary: £26,280
  • Sleep-in shifts: £60 per night (up to £6,000 extra per year)
  • Overtime available (e.g., 1 extra shift/week = approx. £5,000 extra/year)
  • Annual leave: 22 days + Bank Holidays (rising to 26 days)
  • Occupational Sick Pay:
    Up to 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay
  • DBS Certificate, SCW Registration, and DBS Update Service:
    Paid by Perthyn
  • Fully funded induction, training, and Health & Social Care qualification
