An exciting opportunity exists for a keen and enthusiastic Parks Landscape and Planning Manager to join the Strategy Design and Land Management Team.
About the jobThe role of the PARKS LANDSCAPE AND PLANNING MANAGER will be to provide advice and coordinate comments and formal responses on pre-application enquires and planning applications in respect of proposed developments, and facilitate their provision and delivery through the statutory planning process including the preparation of planning obligations.
The post holder will be required to:
- Advise, comment upon and approve landscape details for the laying out of parks, open spaces and other green infrastructure.
- Oversee the laying out, construction and equipping of these areas, and facilitate their transfer to the Council with commuted sums for maintenance where applicable.
- Work with Council’s Highways and Housing sections to oversee design and implementation of the landscape schemes including calculating commuted sums, adoption and handover.
- Lead or assist in the preparation of strategic planning documents linked to the provision of parks, open spaces and other green infrastructure, including the Local Development Plan, Supplementary Planning Guidance and any other policy / strategy documents that may arise from time to time.

The role will be part office-based part homeworking. For the latter you will be given the necessary equipment however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity.
