Strategic Head of Finance & Treasury

Andy is our Head of Finance. He joined us in May 2019 and is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s financial management including maintaining client and office banks, treasury function, billing and credit control, as well as internal and external financial reporting requirements to include monthly and annual accounts, cashflow and SAR compliance.

Andy studied Business and Finance at Hull University in a year he'd prefer not to mention. After leaving uni, he joined a manufacturing business based in Chesterfield called Robinson Healthcare where he worked in various finance roles during a 14 year stay, finally leaving in 2005.

Andy then joined Proddow Mackay Solicitors based in Sheffield, and spent the majority of his time there as Group Financial Controller. He managed the finance function for the group which included 13 businesses carrying out a number of different types of legal work including personal injury, debt recovery and conveyancing. After a 14 year stay, he decided it was time for a new start (anyone notice a pattern here?!

Let's hope he stays with Harper James for 14 years!)

Outside of work, Andy has 2 teenage daughters: one is just about to start her A levels and the other is at Norwich University. He attends many live music events with one or both of them, and sometimes they even let him go on his own ! Andy is also a keen football fan and has had a season ticket for his local team for over 20 years.

He's also a member of a local brewery and regularly samples the real ales they and others provide in the pubs close to his home in Chesterfield.
