Job summaryWorking at the forefront of the fight to deliver a low-cost, resilient energy system for Great Britain, Ofgem uses rigorous analysis to hold network companies to account and drive real change. We’re looking for four Analysts to join us and apply analytical thinking to help shape and monitor the price controls that underpin the UK’s journey to Clean Power 2030 and Net Zero 2050.
Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We’re at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people.
We’re offering four permanent opportunities within our Network Price Controls team at a pivotal moment for the sector. You’ll join as major price control frameworks move from design into delivery, with real influence over how network companies perform for consumers. These roles sit at the heart of strategic decision-making, combining data, insight and policy to ensure networks deliver value for money while enabling decarbonisation.
You’ll work across electricity and gas network regulation, contributing to both forward-looking strategy and robust performance monitoring. From shaping the regulatory approach that guides future business plans to strengthening how we assess delivery against commitments, your analysis will directly inform senior decisions and public accountability. It’s intellectually challenging work with visible impact across the energy system.
We’re looking for candidates with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to interpret complex data and turn it into clear, evidence-based recommendations. You’ll be comfortable working collaboratively across disciplines and engaging constructively with stakeholders, bringing curiosity, rigour and sound judgement to your work.
In return, you’ll join an inclusive organisation that values analytical excellence and supports flexible working. You’ll benefit from an excellent civil benefits package while working on nationally significant issues that directly affect consumers and the future resilience of the energy system. You’ll also have the opportunity to work flexibly across Ofgem as part of the Analysis Profession, contributing to cross-organisational priorities.
We have a critical purpose to ensure network price controls deliver fair outcomes for consumers while enabling the investment and resilience needed for a low-carbon future. In this role, your analysis will help strengthen accountability, improve regulatory design and support the transformation of Britain’s energy networks.
