The Role

The role of the full time Paraplanner is to provide technical support to the authorised Directors in delivering our agreed services to our Corporate and Private Clients. A main proportion of the role will be reviewing investment portfolios for our Advisory Portfolio Service clients. The successful candidate will have experience of investments, and be comfortable working with investment software, such as Financial Express.

  • Ideally the successful candidate will be Level 4 qualified, or very near completion of their Diploma.
Key Responsibilities and Outputs
  • Receiving instructions during debriefings from advisers following client meetings.
  • Interpreting data obtained by advisers during client meetings.
  • Analysing data and using research tools to provide solutions to meet client needs and objectives.
  • Providing records to support research undertaken.
  • Consolidation of client needs and objectives, together with the recommendations and course of action in a written format via a suitability letter, client specific illustration and key features document.
  • Carrying out all tasks in a manner consistent with compliance procedures.
  • Preparation of existing client files ready for reviews.
  • Ensuring all client files are compliant on an ongoing basis.
  • All business related administrative duties.
  • Assisting with Investment Research and Compliance File Checks.
  • Maintaining the responsibilities under the Consumer Duty within the parameters of this role.
  • These duties are not to be regarded as exhaustive and you may be required to perform such other and/or additional duties within your skill and competence as the company may require.
Key Skill Sets

The successful candidate will be experienced in financial services with at least 4 years’ experience in the IFA Sector; being a driven and hardworking individual with experience of working towards strict deadlines within professional environments. They will have confident communication and interpersonal skills – especially when working within, and across multiple teams to produce results. We are an extremely busy office, so the successful candidate must be self‑motivated, conscientious and above all accurate in their work under demanding conditions.

Whilst full training and support is on hand, they are able to work independently to agreed deadlines, but also not afraid to ask for help when required.

We operate a paperless office, so the successful candidate must have experience of, and be extremely comfortable working across a range of IT solutions and provider platforms. Working knowledge of IFA back‑office systems (preferably Intelligent Office), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) is essential. Should be able to work remotely, and/or from the office.
