We are seeking 3 motivated and skilled Accountants to join our dedicated Accountancy Section within the Resources (Finance) Directorate.

This is an opportunity to become part of a team of qualified and experienced accountants who provide professional financial advice and accountancy support across the organisation. Our work supports directorates, schools, external organisations and joint committees covering both revenue and capital accounting.

About the job

There are 3 ‘Accountant’ roles available to be filled via this recruitment process. The successful applicant(s) will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and effective financial support to the Development & Growth, Resources or People and Communities directorates. The key responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional financial advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting budget preparation, monitoring and financial reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
  • Assisting with capital and revenue accounting processes.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of grant claim

What We Are Looking For From You

Has experience in public sector or local government finance (desirable but not essential).

Possesses excellent analytical and communication skills.

Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Providing professional financial advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Supporting budget preparation, monitoring and financial reporting.

Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices.

Assisting with capital and revenue accounting processes.

Preparation and reconciliation of grant claims
