This role will focus primarily on RIBA Stage 4 and Stage 5, ensuring technical design information is coordinated, compliant, and buildable before and during construction. Working closely with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors, the Technical Manager will play a key role in bridging the gap between design and delivery.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of building regulations, technical compliance, and the practical nuances of construction, ensuring that designs translate effectively onto site.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate the technical design process during RIBA Stages 4 & 5
* Review drawings and design information to ensure buildability, compliance, and clarity
* Liaise with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams
* Ensure designs meet building regulations, planning conditions, and statutory requirements
* Identify technical risks early and work with the team to develop practical solutions
* Support project teams with technical queries and design coordination during construction
* Monitor design progress and ensure information is issued in line with programme requirements
* Assist with value engineering while maintaining quality and compliance
* Support the business in maintaining high standards of technical delivery and regulatory compliance
About You
* Previous experience in a Technical Manager, Design Manager, or similar role within construction
* Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction standards
* Experience managing or coordinating Stage 4 & 5 design information
* Good understanding of buildability and how design translates to site delivery
* Strong communication and coordination skills
* Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve technical challenges
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Degree, HNC, or HND in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
* Membership of a relevant professional body (CIAT, CIOB, RICS or similar) beneficial
