This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic, and open-minded individual to help lead a Drainage Infrastructure team, supporting the delivery of civil engineering design across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Working within a collaborative environment and reporting to senior leadership, you will play a key role in leading the design and delivery of projects with a strong focus on Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and conventional surface water drainage design.
This is a varied and technically challenging role suited to someone who thrives on solving engineering problems and takes pride in delivering high-quality solutions for clients.
The Role
Assist in leading the delivery of civil engineering design across infrastructure projects
Lead surface water and foul water drainage strategies and detailed designs
Deliver SuDS and conventional drainage solutions
Manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritise deliverables
Provide technical support and resource planning
Support and mentor engineers at varying levels of experience
Liaise with statutory bodies including Natural Resources Wales and the Environment Agency
Manage Water Authority statutory approval processes (S104, S106, etc.)
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
Skills & Experience Required
7+ years’ experience in surface and foul water design and/or construction
Strong knowledge of Sewers for Adoption and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
Civil Engineering degree (Masters preferred)
Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM (or close to completion)
Proficient in 3D design and modelling software including:
Micro Drainage
Info Drainage
AutoCAD
Civils 3D
Autodesk ICM
Experience with :
S104 and S106 approval processes
SuDS Approval Body (SAB) approvals
National Planning Policy and flood risk management requirements
Demonstrable team leadership capability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving
