The Vacancy

MSS Facilities Ltd and the RSK Group are recruiting for a Senior Asbestos Surveyor/Trainee Project manager to join the team based in Cardiff, UK. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious senior surveyor who is looking to take the next step and become a project manager within the team. The MSS Group is a specialist provider of facilities, industrial and environmental services with expertise in hazardous, highly regulated and complex environments.

Responsibilities
  • Inspecting properties/buildings for asbestos (management, refurbishment and demolition surveys)
  • Bulk sampling
  • Working on a broad range of property types and environments
  • Participation in internal quality control schemes
  • Liaising with tenants & clients
  • Quality/Technical check of survey reports prior to release to client
  • Be prepared to learn the Project Manager role
  • Management of survey projects from costing to delivery
  • Provision of advice and guidance to clients
  • Undertake other tasks as and when required by management
  • To be impartial when carrying out all aspects of work and therefore should avoid involvement in any activities that would diminish confidence in MSS Consulting competence, impartiality, judgement, or operational integrity
Qualifications
  • BOHS P402 Proficiency certificate in building surveys and bulk sampling for asbestos
  • At least 2 years' experience of undertaking surveys of domestic & commercial properties with a variety of ACMs
  • Computer literate - Microsoft
  • Literacy/ spelling and legible handwriting
  • Driving licence
Desirable
  • Any other BOHS P modules
  • AutoCAD user
  • Degree in related discipline
  • Health and safety qualifications or training certificates, e.g. risk assessment/ manual handling/ work at height
