Project Engineer, Systems Engineer

Position: Project Engineer (Permanent)
Role:

ONE Consulting have been engaged to recruit a Project Engineer for an advanced manufacturing organisation based in south Wales.

This role is suited to a skilled engineer with a mechanical background or systems engineering skillset, looking for a broader role with responsibility for project engineering ownership and delivery.

The role will involve a 360 degree approach, from requirements capture and technical relationship management with the customer, through design overview, leading a multiskilled team through design integrations and into production and customer delivery.

* Working with new and existing customers to discuss, develop, and deliver tailored engineering solutions.

* Analysis of customer requirements, compliancy and facilitating solution design and development through to production.

* Oversight and responsibility for technical design and build documentations to support project delivery activities such as compliance, acceptance, delivery and through-life-support.

* Supporting the business development team with pre-sales technical activities; customer meetings, presentations, developing product roadmaps and bidding activity.

* The role will involve customer meetings, both digital and in-person, suiting a professional with excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Education/

Experience:

* Degree or masters qualification in a relevant Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Systems or Product Engineering discipline.

* Able to lead small engineering design and production teams to develop and deliver customer projects, from design brief, through the development process, approvals, build, customer delivery, and through-life support.

* Experience/Exposure to a systems engineering approach, such as requirements management, systems analysis & design, system integration & test, acceptance and delivery.

* Experience of customer facing activity through project or applications engineering is desirable.

* Exposure to project management/project engineering delivery, ideally with experience of leading engineering design and delivery projects.

* Experience of design engineering packages such as Solid Works or Inventor.
