Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for delivering complex civil engineering and water infrastructure projects? This is an opportunity to take a leading role within a major AMP8 framework, driving the successful delivery of essential clean water and wastewater schemes across South Wales.
About the RoleAs a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of multidisciplinary projects from early design through to construction and commissioning. Working within a collaborative framework environment, you’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget — while maintaining the highest technical and quality standards.>
You’ll work closely with design teams, contractors, and client stakeholders, using your civil engineering background to guide technical decisions and keep delivery on track.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects within the AMP8 programme.
- Manage project scope, budget, programme, risk, and change control processes.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, with a strong focus on civil engineering design assurance.
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and commercial performance.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, H&S legislation, and quality management systems.
- Build strong relationships with client representatives, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Drive collaborative working practices across the framework.
- Prepare and present progress reports, forecasts, and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement, innovation, and value engineering initiatives.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, high‑performance team culture.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the water industry or similar regulated infrastructure environment.
- Strong civil engineering design background — ideally with experience in treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations, or major civils structures.
- Track record of delivering multi‑disciplinary projects through design and construction phases.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of NEC contracts (preferred).
- Degree‑qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline; chartership desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across South Wales.
