Assistant Town Planner – Cardiff or Bristol

They are now seeking a motivated Assistant Town Planner to join their growing team in either their Cardiff or Bristol studio.

As an Assistant Town Planner, you will support senior colleagues in delivering a diverse range of planning projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, heritage and regeneration sectors. You will gain hands‑on experience throughout the planning process—from site appraisals and policy research to preparing planning applications, appeals and client reports.

• Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documents.
• Undertake planning research, site assessments and policy analysis.
• Engage with local authorities, clients and stakeholders.
• Support senior planners and architects in delivering high‑quality planning advice.
• Contribute to written reports, design statements and project presentations.

• Ideally 1–2 years of experience in a town planning role (private or public sector).
• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline; RTPI accredited preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive approach, with good organisational and analytical abilities.
• Interest in design, sustainable development and high-quality placemaking.
