We are looking for a Water Sampling Officer who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

This role is covering the South of England.

Purpose of this role

Assisting sampling and compliance teams to meet regulatory sampling requirements, in accordance with ISO:17025 standard.

Your

Key Responsibilities Are
  • To undertake audits and training of field staff undertaking sampling to ISO
    17025 requirements.
  • Assist the Water Sampling Lead in identifying and managing any deviations from procedures and policies, as required by ISO:17025.
  • To organise and undertake the Aquacheck Proficiency Scheme for all technicians.
  • Undertake, investigate, and report any non-conforming work.
  • To maintain own drinking water sampling competency, in accordance with DWTS UKAS 17025 standard.
  • Undertake validation testing on chlorometers.
  • Undertake fridge profiling of field vehicles where applicable.
  • To assist the Water Sampling Coordinator with the compliance and operational sampling programme to meet the requirements of the Water Quality Regulations and ISO:17025.
  • To monitor and report KPIs associated with sampling.
  • To oversee documents, processes, procedures and data management.
  • To develop relationships with stakeholders, including UKAS and subcontracted analytical laboratories.
  • Support event teams when required.
  • Liaise with the other teams about shortfalls, water quality breaches and investigations.
  • Any other duties as required by the Water Sampling Lead.
  • To deputise for the Water Sampling Lead when required.
Qualifications

Degree level in appropriate technical discipline.

Experience/Knowledge
  • An understanding of the ISO:17025 standard for water sampling.
  • An understanding of Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016, as they pertain to monitoring and sampling.
Abilities/Skills
  • Technically competent in Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly organised and motivated.
  • Exceptional record keeping skills are essential to ensure audit trails are maintained.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Desirable
  • Able to maintain a helpful and customer focussed work environment.
  • Able to provide accurate quality work within department and company.
  • Strong knowledge of the full Microsoft suite of software.
Conditions of Employment
  • You are required to have your criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) due to going into customers’ homes.
  • You will be required to participate in a standby rota.
  • You will hold a driving licence.
