Position: Lead Teacher for Wellbeing and Behaviour

Overview

Lead the whole-school wellbeing and behaviour strategy, ensuring consistency and high standards.

Provide coaching, support and professional development to staff in trauma-informed practice, regulation strategies and inclusive behaviour approaches.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the whole-school wellbeing and behaviour strategy, ensuring consistency and high standards
  • Work as part of the senior leadership team to drive improvement and contribute to whole-school decision-making
  • Teach in a mainstream class, modelling outstanding practice rooted in nurture and wellbeing
  • Use assessment, data and evidence-informed approaches to improve outcomes for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and professionals, embodying the values and ethos of Springwood Primary School

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview on Thursday 12th March 2026 following a successful lesson observation. Safeguarding and Child Protection are key priorities for the Council. Qualifications and Experience
  • Has significant experience as an excellent primary practitioner
  • Has demonstrable leadership experience, ideally at senior or middle leadership level
  • Has a deep knowledge of wellbeing, nurture, trauma-informed approaches and ALN needs
  • Can demonstrate innovative and restorative behaviour practice
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and resilience
  • Can inspire and empower staff, pupils and families
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Welsh
