The Role

As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with a student who requires additional support. You'll help them access the curriculum, manage any challenges they may face, and ensure they feel confident and supported in the classroom.

  • Supporting the student in lessons, ensuring they can fully participate and engage with the curriculum
  • Helping to manage behaviour and providing strategies to encourage focus and positive engagement
  • Promoting independence while offering the right level of guidance
  • Collaborating with the class teacher to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging the student's social and emotional development
What You'll Need
  • Experience working with children, particularly in a one-on-one or small group setting (ideal, but not essential)
  • A strong interest in education and a desire to make a difference in a child's learning experience
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting children with diverse needs
  • Strong communication skills to work with both the student and teaching staff
  • A willingness to adapt to the student's needs and contribute to their personal and academic growth
