the university nursery offers facilities for children aged between 10 weeks and 5 years, with sections appropriate to the children’s ages and development. We are committed to providing a professional, customer‑focused service to a diverse range of people.

Reporting to the manager, this role has a degree of autonomy and exercises a high level of judgement regarding the operation of the nursery service at cardiff university.

the section leader is responsible for the care of a group of children within a certain age group and for the supervision of nursery nurses and nursery assistants.

this post is fixed‑term for 6 months (maternity cover), 37.5 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days. The hours will be determined by the line manager so that the centre is staffed from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. This 37.5‑hour contract also attracts an uplift for hours 35–37.5.

starting salary: £25,449 per annum (grade
3). The position is campus‑based.
