Cardiff Sixth Form College invites applications for the post of Head of House.
This opportunity comes at the most exciting period in the history of the college as we look to relocate to brand new, purpose-built premises in Cardiff Bay from September 2026. Cardiff Sixth Form College has led the UK independent school league tables for A Level results for over a decade and has big plans for the future. We seek a creative and dynamic practitioner, keen to contribute to a high-performing and dedicated team.
The House system is a fundamental part of the culture and success of the college. Sixth form students are allocated to houses and the role of the Head of House is to oversee and support the pastoral and academic wellbeing and development of all of the students in their care. With a wide-ranging and challenging remit, the Head of House will oversee the behaviour and conduct;
academic progress and university application guidance of all of the students in their house. House events and competitions form part of the culture of the college and are loved by the students.
The successful candidate will have a limited teaching allocation which will incorporate elements of the college’s own ‘pastoral curriculum’ (including PSHE and Critical Speaking) as well as their own subject specialism, if we can accommodate it. They report directly to the Vice Principal and, as such, are considered core members of the wider leadership of the college.
Our vision is to be recognised as the best academic school in the world. All of our staff play a key role in fulfilling that vision by contributing to a culture of high achievement, intellectual rigour and exceptional teaching and learning. We seek to appoint professionals who are passionate about education and keen to engage and challenge highly academic students.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work with an exceptional team to teach and inspire some of the brightest young people in the country.
Applications are welcome from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences. We celebrate our diversity and welcome interest from individuals with protected characteristics.
