Learning Assistant PEF (Fixed Term)

£17,685.57 - £18,777.80

We are looking to fill a Learning Assistant - Pupil Equity Funding position for up to one year. This post is to assist the school in raising attainment through providing nurture working 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year in Closeburn Primary School.

The successful candidate for this post will be expected to support pupils with a range of additional support needs, including learning needs, medical diagnosis, and social and emotional needs. You will follow the duties as outlined within the job description.

Posts can be offered separately or combined and applications for both will be considered.

The successful candidates must be educated to SCQF Level 4 (e.g. Standard Grade General, National
4) or equivalent, including Numeracy and Literacy or equivalent and experience of working with children and/or young people. A willingness to undertake training will be required. Experience of working with children/young people with additional support needs.

This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post on a secondment.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
