Overview
The Fetal Medicine Unit (FMU) in Cardiff is the only specialist FMU in Wales. It provides specialised high quality evidence-based care to women from across the whole of South Wales, offering a range of pre-pregnancy, antenatal and post-natal care.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive fetal medicine care including ultrasound, counselling and diagnostic procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other specialised services such as neonatology, palliative care, paediatric surgery, paediatric cardiology, clinical genetics and molecular/cytogenetics, virologists/microbiologists and local multidisciplinary teams including obstetricians, midwives, GPs, health visitors, social workers and bereavement services to maintain effective communication and ensure high standards of care.
- Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University's School of Medicine will be expected.

- Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
- You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales.
- The basic salary range for this post is £77,168 per annum to £112,665 per annum for a 7-session commitment.
