Purpose of the Role
The Digital Print Technician is primarily responsible for the production of printed graphics
, ensuring print quality, colour accuracy, efficiency, and smooth workflow from artwork to print. You will create print ready files, operate large-format printers, manage substrates, monitor print quality, and work closely with artwork and project management teams.
Assisting with artwork, quoting and project management may also be required depending on workload.
Key Responsibilities (Print‑Only) Print Production- Operate and maintain large-format digital printers (HP Latex and similar systems).
- Prepare print-ready files in accordance with Popin’s production processes using a variety of print file checklists.
- Set up substrates, colour profiles, and RIP settings for accurate, consistent output.
- Monitor print runs and proactively address issues such as banding, colour drift, artefacts, or hardware errors.
- Conduct pre-print checks on artwork, scale, panel layout, and materials.
- Inspect all prints for defects, colour consistency, and quality, consistent with QA processes used across production roles.
- Ensure correct materials, laminates, and finishes are requested from the production/finishing team where required.
- Follow Popin’s structured workflow for job files, artwork directories, and print documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of media usage, ink consumption, print versions, and job status.
- Communicate clearly with art workers, project managers, and production teams regarding job readiness and print priorities.
- Creation of artwork, transfer of artwork to new vehicle types.

- Maintain stock levels and contribute to monthly stock takes.
- Maintain a clean, organised print area.
- Handle and store media carefully to prevent contamination, creasing, or damage.
- Support general workflow efficiency and maintain safe working practices across the production environment.
- Hands‑on experience with large-format digital printers (HP Latex preferred).
- Experience with RIP software (Onyx preferred but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator for print file creation.
- High attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to manage multiple live print jobs and work within tight turnaround times.
- Understanding of large-format production environments.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot print defects and printer faults.
- Understanding of vehicle graphics / three-dimensional print production for seamless flow across three dimensional objects.
- Full, clean driving licence (preferred in other technical roles).
- Work with industry-leading equipment and technology.

- Working pattern Monday-Friday between the hours of 07:30-16:30
