LOCATION: Central Square, Cardiff
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £32,900 - £42,900 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

The team is the centre for science programmes on Radio 4 and the World Service as well as global podcasts. We cover all aspects of science, tech, health, engineering, psychology, natural history, space science and more. Current programmes and podcasts include Uncharted with Hannah Fry, Inside Science, Inside Health, Health Check, Science in Action, All in the Mind, Crowd Science, and Unexpected Elements.

Essential Criteria

Your skills and experience:

  • A specialist knowledge of science and/or health
  • A proven ability to identify and communicate stories in these genres.
  • The ability to handle tight deadlines and changing priorities
  • A knowledge and understanding of the best in audio and podcasting.
  • Ideas that will engage audiences on air
Desirable
  • Digital audio editing
  • Experience of recording on location
  • Working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Working as part of a team
