Salary : £40,000 – £50,000 + Benefits
The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly competent Stock Condition Surveyor to join a respected, multi-disciplinary property consultancy renowned for delivering robust and data-driven asset management advice across the built environment. This is an exciting 12-month opportunity (with strong potential for extension) to support a significant regional programme of stock condition and compliance surveys across the Cardiff region.
The RoleWorking as part of an established technical team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Undertaking comprehensive stock condition surveys across a diverse residential portfolio, capturing accurate data on component condition, life-cycle, and maintenance priorities.
- Delivering high-quality defect analysis, building pathology assessments, and HHSRS-compliant inspections.
- Supporting asset management planning through detailed reporting and condition data analysis.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, safety standards, and industry best practice.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to provide professional, evidence-based advice on property condition and investment priorities.
You will be a technically astute Building Surveyor with proven experience in delivering stock condition surveys within a consultancy or housing association environment. You will be comfortable working autonomously, applying professional judgement, and maintaining high levels of accuracy and consistency in data collection.
Essential Requirements- Degree-qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in stock condition surveys, building inspections, or asset management reporting.
- Strong understanding of building pathology, maintenance planning, and housing standards.
- Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
- MRICS or MCIOB professional qualification.
- Experience with Keystone, Lifespan, or other asset management software.
- Knowledge of social housing compliance frameworks and Decent Homes Standards.
